The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society leads the way in the fight against blood cancers through research, patient support, advocacy, caregiver support and so much more. Since LLS was founded in 1949, they have invested nearly $1.3 billion in research and treatment innovations. The cure is their goal – this is what drives their mission forward each day.
LLS has committed $100 million to take on children’s cancer through patient advocacy, patient care and support, research, and changing the standard of care for children with cancer. This initiative is providing them with safer, more effective treatments and providing hope to families worldwide. To support this pledge, fundraising efforts are taking place through their “Man & Woman of the Year” competition.
Candidates throughout the United States and Canada form fundraising teams and compete in honor of two local children who are blood cancer survivors. All funds raised support the children’s initiative and benefit families in many ways. The candidate who raises the most funds locally is deemed the “Man or Woman of the Year.”
Silvercreek® Realty Group has chosen to contribute to the fundraising efforts of Woman of the Year candidate, Kelsey Plum. She is raising funds for the LLS Children’s Initiative in honor of her late grandmother who was lost to acute myeloid leukemia in 2018. She represents the State of Idaho in her commitment to bring awareness, attention, and contributions to the important work LLS is doing.
