The holidays are upon us and we welcome this opportunity to bring back Hope for the Holidays as part of our Silvercreek Gives program. Every year we come together as a brokerage to support those in our communities that are having a hard time. We provide gifts, food, and household needs for families and seniors in the month of December. Additionally, we volunteer with the Salvation Army in a variety of ways. In 2021, we were able to support 14 families and 5 seniors through this program! We hope to meet and exceed this in 2022. With your help we can!
This year we are starting with 6 families, representing each of the primary areas of Idaho which we serve (Treasure Valley, Twin Falls, Pocatello, Idaho Falls, and Coeur d’Alene). We work with local organizations and our agents to identify families in need.
One of the families we are helping is a single mom with 3 children and 1 grandchild at home. She has recently escaped a domestic violence situation and after being homeless all summer, has found a stable job and living situation for her family. As they are starting from ground zero, we have the opportunity to provide not only a wonderful Christmas for them but also pantry food, bedding, and other household needs.
Another family has suffered the effects of covid long hauler syndrome. Mom was a healthy 30 year old just two years ago. Since having covid in 2020 she has been diagnosed with more than 10 disorders, several of which are life threatening. She has had to close her business and is unable to work. Dad is working multiple jobs to meet minimum expenses but with raising costs, they are struggling in many ways. Their two young boys are grateful for the Christmas we are able to provide for their family.
The impact we are making is powerful and meaningful for real families in our communities.
